YUCA BREAD

Cassava bread is a traditional Colombian bread, made with cassava flour and cheese, which is enjoyed in many parts of the South American tropics, under this or other names.

It has very simple ingredients and is easy to make at home. It is full of flavour and is usually eaten warm, accompanied by a good cup of coffee.

Its history dates back to pre-colonial times, when indigenous peoples had already discovered the benefits of cassava and various ways of making different products. At that time, the scarcity of wheat meant that cassava products were highly sought after.

However, it was not until the colonial era that the preparation of cassava bread really took off. This was mainly due to its practicality, ease of availability, flavour and unique texture. Since then, it has been a staple on the tables of many Colombian households.
