PREPARATION
1. Heat 150 to 250 millilitres of water to 93°C
2. Place the paper filter in the filter holder and wet it with the hot water so that it adheres and reaches the correct temperature.
3. Secure the filter holder onto the Aeropress tube by tightening the screw firmly.
4. Place the Aeropress on top of the cup (check that the cup size is correct for the Aeropress) with the filter holder inside the cup’s opening. Pour the ground coffee (20 grams or 2 Aeropress scoops) into the Aeropress cylinder, levelling it out as much as possible. If you have a scale, place the complete set of cup and Aeropress with the coffee inside onto the scale and set it to zero (tare).
5. Start the stopwatch.
6. Pour in all the water (you can do a 30-second pre-infusion with 50 ml of water if you are experienced). Make sure you wet all the coffee and slowly stir the water and coffee inside the tube (using the Aeropress stirrer), turning it three times to the right and three times to the left.
7. Carefully attach the plunger to the top of the Aeropress tube without pressing too hard to prevent too much coffee from spilling out.
8. Allow the coffee to brew for 2 minutes (some of our coffees can be brewed for up to 3 minutes).
9. Press the plunger down until all the coffee has been extracted (in approximately 30 seconds)
10. Enjoy your fresh, freshly brewed speciality coffee!
